Message from the President: Upcoming Mask Information

I would like to acknowledge that ²ÝÁñ¶ÌÊÓƵis on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territories of the of the xÊ·məθkÊ·É™yÌ“ É™m (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱ wú7mesh (Squamish), and sÉ™lÌ“ilwÌ“ É™taʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) peoples who have been stewards of this land from time immemorial.
We have heard your concerns about wearing masks on campus, and what might be done at ²ÝÁñ¶ÌÊÓƵto ensure masks are taken seriously on campus this fall. Please know we share your concerns.
It is important to remember that during a health crisis like COVID-19, post-secondary institutions take direction on safety protocols from government, the Provincial Health Office, and local health authorities.
I want to share with you this morning that, while ²ÝÁñ¶ÌÊÓƵcontinues towards full on-campus operations in September, we have also been advocating for, and working with our ministry and the Provincial Health Office on mask and vaccine guidelines for the post-secondary sector.
We anticipate new information from the PHO and Ministry on these issues in the coming days.
²ÝÁñ¶ÌÊÓƵremains committed to the health and safety of all our employees and students. We appreciate all the feedback we have received by our community, and thank you for your support.
